You're minutes from everything: Te Puia's geysers and living Maori village are four minutes away, the lakefront, the hot pools at Polynesian Spa and Wai Ariki Spa and the cafes, restaurants and shops of central Rotorua about six, and the Whakarewarewa Forest and the Redwoods, with their walking and mountain-bike trails, around eight. Skyline's gondola and luge, Zorb and Canopy Tours are roughly twelve minutes away on the western side of town.
